My personal journey with yoga, combined with my professional experience and my passion for serving others, is what inspired me to create The Third Space. I believe that everyone deserves access to the healing power of yoga, regardless of their background, abilities, or experience level. I am so excited to bring yoga to your group!

~Sarah

I began yoga not as a pursuit of physical fitness, but as a search for calm and relaxation. For years, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by children and adults with disabilities, both in my professional life as a special education teacher and in my personal life. I dedicated my career to improving their academic, behavioral, and post-school outcomes, driven by a deep desire to make a difference. But I also recognized that true well-being encompasses more than just academic or professional success. It requires a connection to oneself, a sense of balance, and a recognition of the mind-body connection. It was during this time that I discovered the transformative power of yoga. I started practicing in 2001, and it quickly became more than just exercise; it became a lifeline. Yoga provided me with a space to process emotions, release stress, and reconnect with my own body. It helped me find a sense of peace and resilience amidst the challenges of my work and personal life. I realized that yoga wasn't just about physical postures; it was a pathway to healing, self-discovery, and inner strength. The impact of yoga on my own life was so profound that I felt compelled to share it with others. I became a certified yoga teacher in 2014, eager to bring the benefits of yoga to the communities I served. I saw how yoga could empower individuals with disabilities to connect with their bodies in new ways, improve their physical and emotional well-being, and build a stronger sense of self. I also recognized the incredible need for stress relief and self-care among teachers and veterans, two groups I deeply admire and respect. Having many veterans and active military members in my family, I understand the unique challenges they face, and I'm passionate about providing them with tools for healing and resilience.

My Vision of The Third Space

My vision is to create The Third Space: A Restorative Yoga Studio, a sanctuary for well-being and growth. More than just a yoga studio, The Third Space will be a learning center and a true "third space"—a haven between work and home. Imagine a place where you can unwind with a cup of tea, connect with others, lose yourself in a book, meditate in a tranquil garden, or even recharge in a nap pod. Restorative yoga will be at the heart of The Third Space, but it will also be a place for community building, learning, and deep relaxation. I'm diligently working towards this dream, saving the majority of profits from my current onsite services to make The Third Space a reality.
